If you are a Goan, and love shellfish, then you will definitely like this Tisrayanche Suke .Tisreo or tisryo means clams. Tisryanche Suke is one of my favorites since childhood and now even my son’s favorite. The recipe is very simple and it just tastes amazing. This clams dish goes well with fish curry rice .
For cleaning the clams, you have to open the clams using sharp knife, remove the flesh from one shell and placing it in the other and discarding the other shell and then rinse them well. This is called tisreachi ekshipi(clams in one shell).
Ingredients:
- 500 grams clams

- 1 Big onion chopped fine

- 4-5 Kokum /Â Gracinia indica
- 1 Teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1 Teaspoon turmeric powder

Method:
For cleaning the clams, First open  them into halves using sharp knife.
Then with a knife, lift all the flesh from one shell, and drop it in the other and discard the shell with no flesh. Repeat for all the remaining clams.
Wash them well 3-4 times.
Apply turmeric powder and keep for 10 minutes.
