Fruit Custard
Fruit custard is prepared by mixing any kind of fruits in the custard sauce . In this recipe, I have prepared thick custard sauce and mixed some fruits in it. The mixture is then poured into the molds with some sugar caramel. The molds are kept in the refrigerator for setting.
Once the molds are set, they are flipped onto the serving plate and then garnished with more fruits of your choice. This is the best way to make your kids eat fruits.
The recipe is quick and simple with Indian touch.
Ingredients for custard paste:
- 50 Grams Custard Powder (Vanilla Flavor)
- 2-3 Tablespoons Milk
For Custard:
- 2 Cups (500 Ml) Milk
- 50 Grams Granulated White Sugar
- 1 Cup different fruits cut into bite size pieces
For Sugar Caramel:
- 4 Tablespoons of granulated white sugar
Method:
I used Fruits like apple, banana and strawberries.
Wash them and cut into small bite size pieces.
Mix Ingredients mentioned in paste.Make sure there are no lumps . Keep aside.
In a different pan prepare caramel by melting 4 Tablespoons of granulated white sugar with a tablespoon of water on medium heat till it browns up. This will take around a minute.
Pour this caramel in the molds where you will be setting the custard later. Let it cool down completely before pouring the custard.
Boil 500 Ml milk in a heavy bottom vessel along with 50 grams sugar stirring  continuously on medium high heat.
Make heat to low.
Mix the prepared custard paste and cook for 2-3 minutes or till it thickens stirring continuously to avoid burning  .
Pour the fruit custard in the caramel set molds .
Once the mixture is cooled down completely, refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Enjoy your fruit pudding or fruit custard chilled.
