Soft And Moist Chocolate Cake Recipe
This Super moist Chocolate Cake can be served and enjoyed any time, on any occasion, whether it is birthday or Thanksgiving or christmas.
Whenever I bake a cake, many time I make minor changes in my flavors and taste, but my family prefers chocolate cake, though it is not one of my favorite flavors. The other day, we went to this local grocery store here, and bought a chocolate cake . My son loved it so much and wanted more.
Â
But I prefer to bake cakes at home rather then buying them. And I know, my cake recipe never fails. I told him, I would bake it exactly like the store one and I totally nailed it. He was super impressed. It was super moist and super delicious.
I am planning to bake more for Thanksgiving playing with other flavors. May be some cupcakes . So , if you are running out of Thanksgiving dessert ideas, you should definitely add this item.
This is a super easy recipe and I am quite sure everyone has the ingredients required for it in their pantry. If not, go run to the store and buy guys. You still have time till Thanksgiving.
Â
Preparation Time:Â 15 Minutes
Baking Time:Â 25Â Â Minutes
Serves : 12
Ingredients For Cake:Â
- 1 3/4 Cups All purpose flour
- 1/2 Cup White granulated sugar
- 3/4 Cup unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1 1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Cup Milk kept at room temperature
- 2 Eggs kept at room temperature
- 1/2 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil (You can substitute with any vegetable oil)
- 2 Teaspoons Vanilla essence
- 1/2 Cup Hot water
For Frosting:Â
- 1 Cup Heavy Whipping Cream
- 1/2 Cup Powder sugar
- 1/4 Cup unsweetened Cocoa Powder
Method for Chocolate Cake Base :
Preheat oven to 350 degree Farenheit..
Sieve all the dry ingredients mentioned for cake in a big bowl.
In other bowl, add in eggs, milk, oil and vanilla essence.
Beat for about 2 minutes using electric beater on medium speed.
Cut and fold the sieved dry ingredients into this wet mixture. Make sure no lumps are formed.
Add hot water and mix again.
Line up 9 inch cake pans (I have used 2) using parchment paper. Or you can also grease them with butter . Then pour in the prepared cake batter and bake in preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until toothpick when inserted in the center comes out clean.
Keep it for cooling.
How to make Chocolate frosting?
Take heavy whipping cream and sugar in a bowl and start beating initially at low speed and gradually increase the speed . Keep beating until you get soft peaks.
Add Cocoa powder and continue beating till stiff peaks are formed. Once you get stiff peaks. stop beating .
Once the cakes are nicely cooled down, remove out the parchment papers from the cakes.
Trim the top side of the cakes with knife, just to flatten them. Don’ throw away the trimmed part. You can always use it for further cake decorations.
Spread some frosting over one of the cakes and place the other one on top and continue to frost them till they are nicely covered from top and sides
Lastly you can crumble some of the cake remains on top , just for decoration.
And you are all set with your delicious Thanksgiving dessert. Serve them and enjoy.
