Oreo Cookie Cake in Pressure Cooker
Oreo Cookie Cake in pressure cooker is soft and moist cake baked in pressure cooker rather then in convection oven, which goes well with Tea or Coffee.
Ever tried baking cake in pressure cooker? Yes you can very well bake cakes in pressure cookers if you don’t have convection oven. And if you don’t have a pressure cooker either, you can consider some reviews before diving in (https://allgreatappliances.com/nuwave-pressure-cooker/ is a good starting point). Prior to Oreo cake in pressure cooker, I have never ever attempted to use my pressure cooker for baking purposes. I considered attending some Start a Bakery classes to learn how to bake, but then few days back my neighbour brought me eggless cake to taste and I just loved the texture and the moisture it had. So asked her the formula and she said , it is pressure cooker cake without the use of convection oven. I said “Hmm interesting!”. Actually I never got a chance to bake my cake in pressure cooker, but today my son demanded for cake and since his exams are going on, he gets all the pampering from me. But to my bad luck, there was some problem with electricity in my building , so got some courage and baked this lovely cake for him.
To bake in pressure cooker salt is used as a layer and on top of which, a well fitting baking pan is kept. Salt acts as a pressure controller to bake the cake evenly.Just like while using convection oven we preheat the oven, for pressure cooker cake, the cooker needs to be heated on high heat before baking the cake.
Preparation Time: 15 Minutes
Cooking Time : 25 Minutes
Serves : 4
Ingredients :
- 16-20 Oreo Cookies
- 1/2 Cup Milk
- 4 Tablespoons Granulated sugar
- 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
- 1 Tablespoon Butter to grease pan
Method:
Grease round banking pan(I have used 2 inches deep and 6 inches in diameter pan) and line up with parchment paper .
Remove out the whistle and gasket of pressure cooker.Add about 1/2 Cup salt in pressure cooker.
Grind oreo cookies to fine powder .
Take the oreo powder out in a mixing bowl, and add in sugar, milk, baking powder and baking soda.
Mix properly and pour the batter in greased baking pan.
Add around 1/2 cup of salt in pressure cooker. Close the lid of pressure cooker and on high heat, heat it for about 5-6 minutes (Remove whistle and gasket.)
Remove out the cover and carefully place the baking pan.Cover and cook on very low heat for about 25-30 minutes. The time depends upon the baking pan material you use and also the size of the pan. So please check your cake in between by opening the cooker and poking it with toothpick. If the toothpick comes out clean, that means the cake is baked.
Remove it out and let it cool completely . Then you can either frost it or enjoy as is. I have drizzled my homemade caramel sauce and topped up with some chocolate chips.I bet you would love this oreo cookie cake with a cup of coffee.

Sure Shilpa why not.Preheat your oven at 170 degree C and bake for 25-30 mins. Timing varies depending upon the oven you use.Check it after 25 minutes by inserting the toothpick at the center. If it comes out clean, then cake is baked. Hope this helps.
