Pav Bhaji
Pav Bhaji recipe was started  in the 1850s in Mumbai which was mainly fast and affordable food for workers.  It was later served at in many other restaurants all over Mumbai. Nowadaysm it is being sold on many hand carts on the street , In restaurants in India and even other countries. They later made many variations of Pav bhaji like Paneer pav bhaji, cheese pav bhaji, fried pav bhaji, Jain pav bhaji etc.
Below is simple step by step pav bhaji recipe.
Ingredients:
- Vegetables like cauliflower, potatoes, carrots
- 1 big onion
- 2 small tomatoes
- 2 tbsps pav bhaji masala
- 1 tbsp garam masala
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
- Butter for garnishing
- Pav or bread
Method:
Cook the vegetables in the pressure cooker upto 1 whistle. After all the pressure is released, mash the vegetables with potato masher . chop onion very fine. Cut tomatoes into small pieces.
In a pan, add 1 tsp oil and chopped onions. Fry for a minute. Add ginger garlic paste and fry till the raw smell goes away. Add tomatoes and fry on medium low heat till the tomatoes are properly meshed up . Add all the above dry masala powders into this mixture. Â Fry for a minute.
Now add the mashed vegetable paste into this and mix well. Add salt. Boil it. If the mixture looks very dry, then add a little water.
Remove from heat. While serving , add little butter on top . Â Serve it with bread.
