  1. I found some pomfret fillets in the shop and decided to try this recipe, with the fish cut in 15mm strips and using massala spice mix (Reunion Island style) to which I added garlic, dried cilantro leaves and ground hatch chili for some extra heat. I just let it marinate for 2 hours to make up for the undoubtedly less strong taste. Fried in rice oil and served over tumeric rice and smokey eggplant stew this made a wonderful meal, thank you!
