Stuffed Strawberries is a fusion dessert with Indian flavors where grated paneer cooked with condensed milk is stuffed inside the scooped strawberries.
I must confess that I have been heck a lot busy lately , moving back to India for good. Lot of things are going on in my house, like renovation of kitchen , bathroom, so just to make things little better, I thought to compile this recipe well before moving back. Actually, I had this recipe ready on Valentine’s day but somehow couldn’t post and thought of scheduling it. Please bear with me guys.
For Valentine’s day as I said before , I planned to make everything at home to please my love . He likes strawberry pudding a lot, so made it exclusively for him, and since my son insisted that I should try some fusion dessert too, prepared these stuffed strawberries.
Though store bought paneer can be used, I prefer homemade paneer for my recipes and I always keep my stock ready in refrigerator. Since, we eat vegetarian food on Monday’s, Paneer comes to my rescue. So, Coming back to stuffed strawberries, try to use fresh strawberries rather then frozen ones. You can serve them with or without chilling.
Preparation Time: 5 Minutes
Cooking Time : 7-8 Minutes
- 5-6 Whole strawberries
- 1/2 Cup Paneer(Indian cottage cheese), grated
- 3-4 Tablespoons Sweetened condensed milk
- Saffron Strands, a pinch
- Anything for presentation(I used chocolate sauce and some chocolate cereals, optional)
In a saucepan, add condensed milk and grated paneer.Keep it on medium heat and mix well.
Cook till the mixture gets all dry and leaves the bottom of the pan. It takes hardly 7-8 minutes.
Add saffron strands , mix and remove from heat .
Wash and dry strawberries. With a sharp knife, cut around the top of each strawberry and scoop out the middle.
Cut off a small portion of the strawberry tip, to make them stand.
Scoop the prepared stuffing in each strawberry.
Decorate however you prefer.
Serve either chilled or enjoy as it is.
