Ansache Sasav / Ananas Sasav / Pineapple Coconut Curry
This Pineapple coconut curry also called Ansache Sasav is  very famous in Goa(India) where we also prepare mango curry(Ghotache sasav) with the same ingredients as mentioned here . Anas or Ananas means Pineapple and sasav means you temper it with mustard seeds. So the recipe is very simple and quick.  All you need is pineapple and some tempering ingredients. So let’s prepare this Indian Pineapple curry.
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup of  pineapple chopped into fine pieces
- 1 Tablespoon of Oil
- 1 Teaspoon Mustard seeds
- Pinch of Hing/Asafetida
- 6-7 curry leaves
- Salt to taste
Masala to grind:Â
- Â 1 Cup shredded coconut fresh/frozen
- 1 Teaspoon mustard seeds
- Â A Small ball of Tamarind
- 3-4Â red chillies
- 1 tablespoon of jaggery(Adjust as per your preference)
Method:
Grind the ingredients for the masala mentioned above by adding little water and making a paste.
Remove the peel from pineapple. Dice the pineapple into fine pieces.
Add the curry leaves, then asafetida and mix well.
Add pineapple pieces and stir . Cover and cook for some time until they become soft. (This does not take a long time, about 5 minutes).
Add the ground masala paste, salt and cook on medium high heat until the raw smell of the coconut paste is gone. For about more 5 minutes.
Serve  your Ansache Sasam or Pineapple sweet and spicy Gravy with rice or chapati.
