It’s already February and Valentines day is coming closer. Yay!!!! I am pretty sure, everybody is busy planning something or the other for their Valentines. I have planned a lot of things for mine. As someone said “The way to man’s heart is through his stomach” and from this year onwards I am gonna make sure that my Valentine get’s to enjoy homemade meal which not only will keep him fit and active, but also will make him crave for more.
More then any meal we know that breakfast is very crucial in a day. So, I will start from there. Every time I shop for breakfast products, my concern is what goes inside the product which I will be using in my recipe and always drop the idea of purchasing the products with high fructose corn syrup, artificial color, flavors or preservatives and not to mention the ones with artificial sugar. Though it’s just impossible everyday to make something quick and tasty for breakfast which is also totally free from all the above things and will also energize you for the entire day, Walmart has given this superb choice of Welch’s Chia Strawberry Fruit Spread . Very easy to locate behind the convenience meals aisle where they keep syrups, spreads etc..
Chia seeds are one of my favorite superfoods. These seeds are originally grown in Mexico and have high nutritional value. In the Mayan language , Chia means “Strength” and normally runners and warriors would use them as fuel during battles while running long distances. Other then that, according to recent researches these chia seeds have a very strong effect in terms of building stronger bones and muscles, supporting heart, improving immunity, reducing signs of aging and even curing diabetes. When I saw these bottles of Welch’s new Chia spreads in Walmart, I was delighted . Thought, why not make something tempting for breakfast which will combine delicious fruity flavor of spread and also give a unique experience of Chia seeds. And here I am , with this delicious banana smoothie with a hint of honey to enhance the flavors.Normally I add yogurt in my smoothie recipes but thought of modifying it this time. Vegan version can be also made by substituting milk with almond milk.
Preparation Time:Â 10 Minutes
Yields :2 Cups
Ingredients :Â
- 1 1/2 Cup Milk(Can be substituted with almond milk)
- 1 Tablespoon Raw Honey
- 1-2 Small bananas
- 5-6 Teaspoons of Welch’s Chia Strawberry Fruit Spread
Method:
Add a teaspoon of Welch’s Chia Strawberry Fruit Spread along with other ingredients in a food processor and blend it well .
Pour the prepared smoothie in a tall glass and add the remaining Welch’s Chia Strawberry Fruit Spread. Mix. Garnish with anything or your choice. I have used a cherry just to go with my valentine theme. Chill in the refrigerator or enjoy as it is. And there you go. Not to mention,you are incorporating the goodness of chia into your diet with more than 700 seeds in each serving.
