French Onion Soup Easy Recipe
onions is the most time consuming and takes around 30-40 minutes. The more you caramelize, deeper the color of the onions and more rich will be the flavor of the soup.
What cheese is in French Onion Soup?
Traditionally, they use Gruyere in this particular soup , but if you cannot find it in grocery store, you can still prepare this recipe by substituting with any other good quality cheese. It has salty, nutty flavor. I did not find it in my local grocery store, so , used Noreweign Jarlsberg Cheese (it has similar texture and flavor as Gruyere).
