Ganesh chaturthi meaning lot of preparations ahead . Festive atmosphere everywhere. Modak is one of Ganapati Bappa’s favorite . Traditionally we prepare them using sweet filling like freshly grated coconut with jaggery inside the soft shell of rice flour and then steaming them. These are typically prepared in Maharasthra and are called “Ukdiche modak”. In few parts of India we prepare something called “Purnache Modak”. They are prepared using mashed chana dal(split gram) cooked in jaggery stuffed inside the shell prepare using maida(All purpose flour) or wheat flour and then deep fried in oil.
But if we are looking for some quick modaks to offer to our beloved Ganapati Bappa, then Chocolate modak is the best option. And I am pretty sure Bappa and the kids would love them.
