Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 10-15 minutes
Â
Makes around 2 dozen cookies
Â
Ingredients:
- Maida or All purpose flour 1 and 1/2 cup
- Baking Powder 1 tsp
- 1 Cup powdered sugar or white sugar
- Custard Powder ( Any flavor . I used vanilla flavor) 1/2 cup
- Butter 1/2 cup . It should be at room temperature. Otherwise microwave for 10 seconds or until it softens.
- Tuti Fruitty 1/2 Cup( If you cannot find tuti Fruitty in grocery store, you can substitute it with raisins, cranberries etc.)
- Milk 3-5 Tbsps
Â
Method:
In a mixing bowl, mix butter and sugar very well. Add little milk and mix. Add tuti Fruity into this. Sift together baking powder, Maida and custard powder into this mixture and stir well. If not getting mixed with spatula or spoon, mix with your hands. Don’t knead the dough . If the dough is not getting formed, then add little more milk and form a dough. Now, divide the dough into two parts. Take one part on the Cling film or plastic wrap and roll it up in the cylindrical shape. Close both the sides. Do the same process for the other half of the dough. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours. Preheat the oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit. Remove one cylindrical shaped dough out from the plastic film and slice it with a very sharp knife(note that the knife should be extremely sharp otherwise cookies break while cutting). Each slice could be approximately 1/2 inch. Do this for the second half of the dough. Arrange them on the baking tray lined up with parchment paper or aluminium foil and bake around 10-15 minutes till you see the edges browning up.
Note: Store cookies in air tight container only after they cool down completely after removing out from the oven otherwise they will become soggy.
