Chilly winters? Don’t feel like coming out of blankets? I know, nothing can beat that cuddling ,but I am sure you would enjoy my heart healthy hot spinach soup. This is prepared using spices, tomatoes and lots of spinach which will not only make you full but you will be feeling energetic in this winter season.
As you know that spinach is a heart healthy food and can be consumed any amount by any one in any form. You can make salads,curry, soups. You are gonna get vitamins and minerals from it.
I know , kids make a big fuss eating vegetables, but bet if you give them this tasty soup, they would ask for more. Trust me, from my experience I am telling you.
So let’s see how to make this best spinach soup.
Yields: 2 Bowls
Total Time: 30 Minutes
- 1 Cup Baby Spinach
- 2 Big Tomatoes
- 2-3 Cloves of Garlic chopped
- 1-2 Bay leaves
- 1 Tablespoon oil
- 1 Onion, Sliced
- 1 Teaspoon Black pepper powder
- 1/2 Cup water
- Heavy whipping cream for garnishing(Optional)
- Few Croutons for garnishing(Optional)
- Salt to taste
Heat oil in a vessel.
Saute garlic ,onions and bay leaves on medium heat till onions become soft.
That will take around 5-7 minutes.
Add tomatoes , and 1/2 cup water. Cover and cook for 10 minutes.
Add pepper powder.
Grind it together with spinach to very smooth paste.
Pour this puree in the vessel and let it come to boil. Add salt.
Switch off the stove.
Pour it in the soup bowls.
Drizzle some heavy whipping cream on top(Optional).
Serve with croutons(Optional).
