Vindaloo gravy is popular in the regions of Goa brought by Portuguese. Vindaloo paste is used to prepare chicken, pork,beef , prawns or literally any kind of recipe you like. This masala can be prepared overhead and stored in the refrigerator. I have prepared Prawns vindaloo using this paste.
So lets see the ingredients for this authentic Goan Vindaloo paste.
Yields: 1 Cup(250 Ml)
- 1 1/2 Tablespoon oil
- 6-7 Dry Red Chillies
- 15-16 Pepper corns
- 15-16 Cloves
- 1 inch ginger
- 7-8 Garlic cloves
- 1 Teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 1 Cinnamon stick
- 1/4 Teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 Teaspoon Lime Juice/Vinegar
- 1 Small onion roughly chopped
Heat oil in a pan and fry all the above ingredients except onions and vinegar.
Saute for 2 minutes on low flame.
Grind with vinegar, onions and little water to turn to fine paste.
Use this paste in different recipes whenever required.
