Mint Chutney : A Perfect Condiment
Mint Chutney:Perfect Condiment for Chicken or Veg Tandoori and kebabs. Can be also enjoyed with pani puri.
Whenever I prepare Indian appetizers like Tandoori or any kebabs, Mint or pudina chutney is a  must in my family . So what I do , is prepare the basic mint chutney in advance, and then mix yogurt and make the chutney ready to go with my appetizers. There is no fun with Tandoori chicken without mint chutney. But make sure that you get fresh mint for this recipe. Just prepare the chutney and refrigerate it in a glass bottle for upto a month.Â
Last week since it was a busy week for me, I was expecting some guests and had to think about some condiments. My mint chutney was almost over , so had to prepare the fresh one. So let’s see how to prepare this quick and easy mint chutney.
Preparation time:10 Minutes
Yields : 1 Cup
Ingredients:Â
- 2 Big bunches of Pudina/Mint leaves
- 1 Small Bunch of Coriander/Cilantro leaves
- 5 Garlic cloves
- 1 Inch Ginger piece
- 1Â Tablespoon Cumin Seeds
- Small marble size ball of Tamarind
- 8-10 Green Chilies
- 1/2 Cup Water
- 1 Tablespoon salt to taste
Method :
Wash the mint and cilantro leaves and grind them together with other ingredients mentioned above to very smooth chutney(Paste).
Now you can store this prepared chutney in a glass bottle and refrigerate.
Whenever you want to use this chutney for Indian appetizers like, chicken tandoori, chicken or vegetarian kebabs , mix equal part of the chutney with equal parts of yogurt(Curd) or you can mix  more yogurt and less mint chutney and adjust salt if required ,as shown in the 3rd picture on top and enjoy your appetizers with this flavorful mint chutney.

I could happily drizzle this all over a huge green salad!
Yes that would be a great idea. Never thought about it.Thanks .
yummm. Looking awesome
Thanks Yigit!
I like that you can store the base in the fridge for a while, and then just mix it with yogurt for a condiment. Great idea, here!
Thanks Kelly!.
I adore this stuff — our family always fights over it at Indian restaurants 🙂
Oh really ! Haha . We do the same in American restaurants. Take a lot of time to decide.
