Quick Dahi Chicken in Pressure Cooker
Dahi chicken is one of the easiest recipe and can be prepared with very less time and effort. It just needs few ingredients easily available but the main ingredient which goes here is dahi(Yogurt).Dahi shouldn’t be sour, but just right for perfect dahi chicken .
When I am in mood of cooking chicken but feel lazy to make some tedious gravy consuming lot of time, I prepare this quick and easy dahi chicken which doesn’t require much time. Sometimes I keep my chicken to marinate overnight or if I am in a hurry, just keep it for 30 minutes to an hour for marination. Thats it.
Preparation Time: 1 Hour
Cooking Time: 30 Minutes
Serves : 4-5 People
Ingredients for Marination:

1 Tablespoon Red Chili Powder
1 Tablespoon Coriander Powder
1 Teaspoon Cumin Powder
2 Tablespoons Chicken Masala Powder(Optional)
1 Tablespoon Lime Juice
Salt to taste

2-3 Bay Leaves
1 Teaspoon Jeera/Cumin Seeds
3-4 Slit green chilies
1 Big Onion, finely chopped
1 Tablespoon Kasuri Methi
Handful of chopped Cilantro/Coriander leaves
Method:
First marinate chicken using the ingredients mentioned and leave for at least an hour or overnight..
In a Pressure cooker, heat ghee.
Add bay leaves and cumin seeds green chilies and onions.
Saute till onions turn transluscent.
Add marinated chicken and mix. Cook for 5-10 minutes on medium heat.
Pressure cook for 6-7 whistles and add salt if required( I had already added enough in marinade so skipped).
Once the pressure is released, crush and add kasuri methi
Let it boil on high heat for 5 minutes.
Switch off the flame and add chopped coriander leaves and mix.
Serve dahi chicken with roti, naan or even jeera rice.

A suggestion. Try to post more recipes that aren’t just “quick”. One of the joys of cooking is authenticity, NOT quickness!
I know. But my blog niche is quick cooking .
