Kerala style Red coconut chutney is bit spicier version of coconut chutney which is a perfect condiment to go with dosa, uttappam or appam .
Usually I prepare green or white chutney at home because we don’t prefer too hot and spicy food but this morning I was craving for something south Indian, so had prepared my style , healthy rawa appam(Will share the recipe soon) . And wanted spicy condiment to go with them. Had all the ingredients in my kitchen , so grabbed them quickly and prepared this kerala style coconut red chutney.
Normally in Kerala they use shallot type onions which has sweet , mild flavor. But since I had normal ones, used those. You may add shallots if you got them.
Preparation Time: 15 Minutes
Serves : 4-5 People

Give tadka on medium heat by adding first mustard seeds and urad daal.
Cover the pan and let the seeds crackle for few seconds.
Add curry leaves, let them fry for 10-15 seconds.
Pour this tadka(Tempering) into the prepared chutney and mix.
