Hot N Spicy Green Chutney
Hari Chutney or green chutney is a handy condiment used in Indian chaat recipes or sandwiches.Â
It is prepared by making puree of cilantro, chillies and tamarind. Many variations can be made by adding extra spices, coconut etc.
This chutney goes well with potatoes or eggs, for sandwiches or salads and most importantly you can spice up your chaat recipes with this chutney.
Since the time consumption for preparation of this recipe is very less, you can prepare it little extra and store in air tight container in refrigerator.
So let us look at the ingredients and recipe for green chutney.
Yields: 1/2 Cup
Time Required: 10 Minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 Big Bunch of Fresh Cilantro(Coriander Leaves)
- 1-2 Hot green chillies
- A Marble size ball of Tamarind
- Salt to Taste
- 1 Inch Ginger Piece
Method:
Grind all the mentioned ingredients to smooth paste using few tablespoons of water.
Make sure you don’t use too much water.
Add 1 Tablespoon at a time. The chutney has to be thick.
Remove from the grinder and store this chutney in the refrigerator.
Use for any kind of Chaat recipes or even for sandwiches.
If you want to make it more spicy, increase the number of chillies.
