Now since it is festival season, I had lot to prepare, so thought of making this quick microwave chivda to save time. The outcome is really the same as you do with the traditional method plus you require less oil so it is healthier too. So try out this quick microwave poha chiwda. I have prepared this out of thick beaten rice(Poha) but you can also use thin poha .
Yields: 2 Cups
Total Time: 15 Mins
3 cups Thick Poha/Beaten Rice
1 Tablespoon Granulated white sugar or powdered Sugar
2 Tablespoons Raw Peanuts
1/2 Teaspoon Turmeric powder
Pinch of Hing /Asafoetida
2-3 Tablespoons Oil
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Mustard seeds
1 Teaspoon Cumin seeds
2-3 Green Chillies finely chopped
5-6 Curry Leaves
Heat oil in a microwave safe bowl for 2-3 minutes.
In that add tempering ingredients and microwave for 2 minutes or until you see all the mustard seeds crackled.
Now mix peanuts and microwave again for 3 -4 minutes, stiring after every minute.
Add hing,turmeric powder and microwave for few seconds.
Add poha and mix well. Microwave for 3-4 minutes. Check if it is crisp.
In another mixing bowl, mix together sugar and salt and pour chivda in this . Mix well.
And there your Crispy,quick and Instant Poha Chivda is ready.
